There is no single price for commercial door repair, and any figure quoted without seeing the door should be treated with caution. The cost depends on what has failed and what it takes to fix it.
What drives the cost
- The type of door: aluminum storefront, glass, hollow metal or other.
- Which parts have failed: an adjustment, a closer, a pivot, a lock or several parts.
- Parts availability: current hardware is easy to source, discontinued hardware is not.
- Hardware grade: heavy-duty commercial hardware costs more than light-duty.
- Condition of the door and frame: a bent leaf or racked frame increases the scope.
- Access and scheduling: working during business hours, at height, or on several doors.
- Number of doors: grouping work can reduce repeat visits.
What to ask for in a quote
- What is the diagnosis? Which part has failed?
- What are the options, for example repair or replacement?
- What is included: parts, labor and any follow-up?
- What might change the scope once the door is opened?
Be careful with very low quotes
A quote that covers only the symptom, for example tightening a screw, may not fix a worn pivot. A more complete diagnosis reduces repeat calls.
